Inherited Cholesterol Disorder Club
 Inherited Cholesterol Disorder Club
What is ICD Club?
The ICD Club is a support group for people with inherited cholesterol disorder or familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), total cholesterol level of more than 7.5 mmol/L and those who have special interest in cholesterol disorders. This club was founded by The Heart Foundation of Malaysia in June 2001
Why was ICD Club Set Up?
The ICD Club was initiated due to low awareness of the genetic factor in high blood cholesterol both among the public and health professionals in Malaysia. Through the support group activities, it is hoped that awareness on FH is instilled and potential FH sufferers can be detected and optimally treated early in life.
The Objectives of ICD Club
The main objectives of the support group are to educate and create awareness on familial hypercholesterolemia and to encourage people to seek immediate medical attention from their doctors on this problem.
